Trust over must

There aren’t any strict guidelines for me to follow, and I like that. It’s clear what the goals are, but how I go about getting there is up to me. That gives me freedom and room to work, without feeling unsupported. Thankfully, micromanagement just isn’t an issue at FRITZ! The work never weighs me down – I enjoy coming here.
From idea to update
I started at FRITZ! three years ago as a working student, and now I am part of the mobile internet team on a permanent contract. We develop the software for the FRITZ!Box models that can connect to the internet via SIM card. When a new generation of devices is in the works, we adapt our code accordingly and test new features. We regularly receive feedback from the FRITZ! fans eagerly trying out the lab versions of the software — I love that. Aside from development work on new products, we also maintain the existing devices and keep them up to date with regular updates.
Personal connections
We had a FRITZ!Box in my home when I was a kid. Now I get to work on their development – that’s a pretty cool feeling. The other thing I appreciate about FRITZ! is the way everyone is on the same page, committed to building outstanding products. We support each other, even across different teams. And although a lot of things are done digitally, I regularly hear about what other teams are working on right now, for example in design or hardware development. I’m always impressed by the breadth and depth of expertise that comes together here, all under one roof.
